Hi, I'm Abs from Five. Grrrr ...

 

What is love?

What is love? (He repeats the question four timest) You know, I could sit here all day and ponder that question and still not know the answer. Love is mysterious. The world's a better place when you're in love, you feel like ... (Hears J shouting v. loudly in the next room and points to him.) Like that! You feel like, 'Everything's cool and I ain't got nothing to worry about 'cos I'm in luuurvel' Everyone needs someone to love.

 

Does Danielle talk about you in interviews as much as you talk about her?

(Breaks into a heeuuuge grin.) Yes, she does. She did an intervju recently where she talked about me loads, but I wouldn't mind if she didn't. The only reason I talk about her is because I get asked all the timel And I love letting people know how I feel about her, and she doesn't mind at all. I'm just being honest. (Looks all dreamy.) She's just had her hair cut, actually - it looks lovely ...

 

What would you do if you and Danielle ended tomorrow?

Well, I don't think it would, but if it did, I'd do everything I could to win her back. I don't know exactly what I'd do, because.I can't even think about it, but I'd do literally everything in my power. I'd travel down to see her, take a week off and take her away ... anything.

 

When was your first sexual experience?

It was when I was in the playground at school and I was playing with this pen that had a naked women on it. If you turned it upside down, her clothes fell off and you could see her boobs and everything. I was like, 'Whooocoooa! What are they ?! ' I was about 16. Hahaha Only joking, I was about nine! I was obsessed with boobs when I was younger - every time I saw them, I was like, "Wow, look at them, man! Cool!'

 

Did you get on with your parents when you were a kid?

I actually didn't see a lot of my dad when I was growing up, 'cos I mainly lived with my mum. But I got on fine with my mum, and I'd see my dad every now and again when I went to his garage. My parents never actually got together and got married and stuff, and they never lived together when I was around, but my dad lives across the road now, so I see him quite a lot. I'm grateful to my mum, though, because she brought me up well.

 

Is there anything you feel guilty about?

(Sadly) Yeah, I killed my grandad's fish when I was younger. I put HP Sauce in its bowl and it died. I was only about six (smiling slightly) and I thought it was hungry so I gave it some food. I never told my grandad either. (Goes quiet.) That's what I feel guilty about.

 

What are your best and worst qualities?

Oh, man! I like and don't like my moods. I don't get really moody, but sometimes I go quiet because I want to be on my own. Then, other times, I'll be mad and hyper and want to do everything, and I'll get really excited. I'm either really quiet or really loud. (Thinks.) I actually quite like that, though - at least if I'm quite I can give this (taps his head) a rest. I think you'll have to ask that question to someone who knows me, 'cos I don't know the answer!

 

Is fame all you expected it to be?

(Shrugs.) There are a lot of things that are and a lot of things that aren't. The things that are are things like being invited to loads of parties, going on TV and being in magazines loads. The things that aren't are the early mornings, being exhausted and all the business stuff to sort out – you don't think about that side of things. But I love it. I love it all.

 

Who do you think will be the first person to leave Five?

Um, I honestly couldn't say. If you'd asked me a couple of months ago, I would have said J, because he was always losing his temper. We were all really stressed out at the time, and there was loads of crap going on, so we were all getting ratty. But we've had a bit of time off and we've all chilled out, so I don't reckon anyone would leave yet.

 

Rich has Scott, Sean has J ... so who's your best mate in the group?

I have no idea - I just talk to any of them. Sometimes I'm loud like Scott, sometimes I'm quiet like Sean, sometimes I shout like J, and sometimes I'm emotional like Rich. So I get on with all of them at different times. (Smiles.) No, actually, I get on with all of them al the time!

 

Do you ever take much notice of your dreams?

(Nods.) Yeah, big time. I had a dream last night where my dad was chasing me. I don't know what that means, but I think dreams usually mean the opposite of what will actually happen. Like, if your mum's pregnant and you dream she'll have a girl, then she'll have a boy - that sort of thing. I've had dreams that have come true before, where I've had deja vu and I've thought, 'I've dreamt this before!'

 

What's the most terrified you've ever been?

That was when my friend Chun-yu invited me round to his house and warned me there was something a bit spooky about his nan. As we got to the house, I got this really weird, scary feeling, and when we went in, she asked me if I was his girifriend. (Eh ?! ) Weird. (Shudders at the memory.) Then this door behind us closed really slowly all on its own and I was freaked. I know it sounds stupid, but I'll never forget it. She was very odd.

 

What do you think happens after we die?

I've got no idea - I think maybe we turn into other pop stars. I think I'll turn into the Naked version of Louise. (You what ?! )

(Becoming more serious) I don't want to answer that question because I don't want people to think I have any idea, 'cos I really don't. I do think about it sometimes, but I'm not scared of it. The only thing I'm scared of is people dying and leaving me behind. I'd hate that.

 

What do you think are the most important lessons in life you have to learn?

I had this dream the other night, and the second before I woke up I heard this voice say to me, 'Don't take anything for granted'. It was weird because this voice sounded so clear. So I guess that's the lesson I've got to leam ... and I'm already learning it.
